Fun and entertaining June 4, 2010 Vladimir Khapersky (Kentucky) I bought this toy for my grandson. He enjoys it a lot, it's his favorite toy.
The construction is durable, but to some extent. Sometimes, if held by the tail with a hand, the dinosaur gets stuck and may not return to initial position. On the ground, it works perfectly.
I didn't test the spitting mechanism, as we have many electronic devices, I wouldn't want my grandson to ruin them with water.
Screature is super fun! May 10, 2010 Carrie P. This birthday present stole the show. Even the grown-ups got a kick out of it! I highly recommend this for any dinosaur lover. For the reviews mentioning the spitting function not working, I suggest making sure there is not an air bubble in the water chamber. When I filled it up the first time, it appeared to be full, but only sputtered water because the tank was NOT filled. Just put your finger over the opening and shake it, then you can see how full the tank really is. Once it's filled, the dino will spurt water about 6 feet! Super cool toy!
Overpriced April 14, 2010 K. Rice My son really wanted the Screature after seeing it on television. Luckily he has a grandma that wanted to spend the $35 on it. It is a fun toy, but I personally wouldn't have purchased it unless it was UNDER $20. It's not worth $35.
The kids love watching it squirt water about 8 feet. It has fun sound effects and the sides puff out. It does have some drawbacks. The reservoir is really small. It will squirt about 6 times before needing refilled. I read prior reviews and knew that, but you don't realized how often you'll be filling it back up. It will get air bubbles and misfire quite a bit, but the kids seem to like it despite these limitations. They're both under 5 years old, and they seemed to get bored with it quickly since it only does a couple of tricks. Personally I would only buy it if it were priced under $20.
Fun - but not for 2 year old!! April 2, 2010 clocord (hp, ny, usa) I made the mistake of buying this for a 2 year old Dinosaur lover! The kid freaked out and was scared -- which means this is probably best for a 5 year old, not much younger (box says 4 years old). But...the adults are having a great time with it!!
Screature is Awesome! March 1, 2010 D. Todd Gruen This product was given as a gift to my 3 year old and 5 year old. They fell in love with it immediately and actually share it (hard to believe). The interaction between the toy and the kids is fun to watch as a parent, especially in terms of the imagination it allows my boys to develop. I thought initially they may be frightened of the noises or suddened movements, but not a problem at all. Well done!
