Wrath Of Kahn Enterprise September 3, 2010 Pete Today, I recieved my " Wrath Of Kahn " Enterprise. Based on all the reviews, I would agree for the most part with all of them. The plastic seems a bit on the thin side. The lights do shine through. The nacelles only light up on one side. The deflector dish is way too dark. The light quality is substandard for the expense of the model. The stand is not that sturdy. The sounds are more geared towards voices rather then ship sounds. Let me see, did I miss anything?. Oh yes, the nacelles were warped, ( at least one side was ). In light of all this though, when I placed this ship along side the other ships, I must confess I was somewhat impressed. By the way, for those of you considering to purchase this model, the warped nacelle(s) can be fixed by simply applying a pair of pliers to the three areas that the nacelle(s) attach too!. Too much force, you will break it. Not enough force and you will not have made the adjustment. In any event, it is a simple fix. I think the ship overall is of good quality and would make a woderfull gift or addition to anyones fleet!. The model reminds me of just that, " a model " that I built from a kit with all it's minor imperfections. The graphics are outstanding and create a realistic look for the Enterprise "A". The lights are a bit unique. I believe the "Playmates" Enterprise lights are superior and the blue color is a nice touch for that so called " toy ". In the end, I am delighted that a company made this particuliar star ship. It is with out a doubt the most famous design and quite possibly the best designed Star Ship in the Star Trek universe. I guess most of us who purchased this model and others like it just want more size and more realism built into the ship. Kind of like what BBI does for it's stable of aircraft replicas. They are big, realistic and almost life like in appearence. I collect those as well. However, I do wish that the companies making the Star Trek ships would at least produce a upscale (size wise), version of all the Star Ships. Hey, I paid almost Three Hundred dollars for the F-14 Tomcat. In 1/18 scale, shes quit large. Imagine an Enterprise in say 1/48 or 1/72!. I am willing to pay for a well made durable life like in appearence product. This particuliar model is a good buy and I would strongly recommend it despite it's minor setbacks. Hope this review was helpfull.
Worst NCC-1701 I've seen May 16, 2010 T. L. Rasmussen (Minnesota, United States) Poor quality, poor graphics scheme. And if you want to actually use the base? You're SOL - it doesn't fit.
Worst Ship Paint job ever! ( AND the hull is too thin...) February 14, 2010 T. Harker 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The paint job is pisspoor.
NO LIGHT shines through the deflector dish. (Painted black?!)
TOO MUCH LIGHT shines through the saucer section of the hull. (Looks...odd)
Engines keep falling off on one side for no reason. (I had to superglue it.)
The rest of the paintjob looked good but the saucer didn't have as much paint than the primary hull and engines of the ship, which is...noticeable.
All in all I think DiamondSelect needs a quality control team bad because the quality of there ships are all over the place.
And ordering from online adds new worries to a purchase like this.
For something like this it is better to find a local Hastings store or another place that sells one out of a brick and mortar location. You must examine these ships closely to decide which one looks defect free.
Diamond Select (Art Asylum) toys better get there quality and consistency looked at ASAP no doubt.
Other than that it's a great 'toy'.
Enterprise January 27, 2010 Richard L. Mcdaniel Great model with fantastic detail. Shipped quickly. Lights & Sounds work great and sound authentic. I would highly recommend to any collector.
Good Enterprise but not the best NCC-1701. January 27, 2010 Joy L. Jessup (Winston Salem N.C. USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
To put it lightly I agree with the other reviews of this item. It is a nice looking Enterprise but the Art Asylum NCC-1701 A is a better ship to buy. The white color on this one is nice but the plastic is really thin. Compared to the NCC-1701 A this ship is lighter in weight so Diamond must have changed something at the manufacturing facility besides the color. My huge complaint with this ship is the deflector dish. The dish is black when it should be a light blue with the lights off. The NCC-1701 A has this feature perfect with the light off but cost alot more if you can find one. I would give the NCC 1701 A a higher rating than this Wrath of Khan version. Also with this version the impulse engine lights do not light up or if they do you canot tell due to all the light bleeding through the plastic. I own almost all the Art Asylum Enterprises and this one is my least favorite of all them.
